Clear stamps – those see-through stamps you position on clear acrylic blocks – are the biggest thing since sliced bread in the rubber stamp world. In Perfectly Clear: Over 50 Great New Looks and Techniques for Using Autumn Leaves Clear Stamps! a dozen designers incorporate Autumn Leaves clear stamps in their scrapbook layouts. Many of the techniques were a revelation to me – a stamper of 8 or more years. Who knew you could stamp on felt? But Mellette Berezoski (page 7) has come up with a page that features cheery pink blossoms cut from felt and stamped with flower centers and petals. Delightful! Also very cool is Jennifer Pebbles‘ s (page 14) use of newspaper as background paper, ready for stamping. And did you know your stamps can “kiss”? Uh-huh! Check out this fabulous technique, explained by Jackie Bonette on page 23! Cardmakers, there is no reason you could not use dozens of these techniques in your workd, too. Come in the store and check out the book, which we offer for $11.70, less than the publisher’s list price of $12.99. Or call the store at 925-362-9595 and we’ll put one aside for you.
